About
Although she was always drawing, Sarah began her journey with a doctorate in modernist literature and visual cultures. This training has been foundational and provides rich subjects for her art: her inspiration often comes from things she’s read, whether poetry, psychoanalysis or ancient myths.
Sarah especially loves stories that are a bit surreal, or where one small change allows us to ask big questions about the human condition. Her style is all about smudgy pencil textures and lines that have been rubbed out and redrawn.
Sarah was a mentee on Pathways into Children’s Illustration, a programme to diversify children’s publishing.
